Meet Blueberries For Call a super cute kids clothing and accessories brand from the US. Known for their moccasins, quirky slogan t-shirts and leggings, we found them on ETSY and have been huge fans ever since.
Living in a hot humid climate with a very strong in door air conditioning, makes us a leggings fanatic. Nika is a real tomboy too, so a pair of leggings is her best friend, its great for going down the slides, climbing trees and doing all kind of wild things. Smock tops or T-shirt and leggings are our uniform. Now we hate when leggings get all saggy on the knees, giving us that un chic grandpa look. We came across Blueberries for Call on Etsy, because we were looking for baby moccasins and fell in love with the leggings and cute slogan onesies. The leggings are minimal, quirky, with a perfect amount of stretch, Nika has pretty much grown up wearing them on a daily basis. Their quality rocks too, we wash ours all the time and they really wear well.
We sat down with the founder of Blueberries For Call for quick skype to find out how she launched the brand and where she finds her inspirations:
My name is Ramie Call, I’m the owner of Blueberries For Call. I went to Oregon State University and graduated with my degree in Merchandising Management with an emphasis on Apparel Design. I worked for 10 years in retail and I had always dreamed of designing my own clothing line, the opportunity came about when I went on maternity leave and was looking for a way to work from home and decided to bring out my old sewing machine and attempt to create my vision for baby clothing.
I absolutely love being a mom and raising my two boys, they are my inspiration for designing and also my fit models for new designs. Aiden is 2.5 and my youngest, Hudson is 8 days old today!*
The brand of Blueberries For Call started when I had my first son, Aiden in 2014. I couldn’t find trendy boy’s clothing anywhere in the stores so I started making it myself. I also struggled to find shoes that were lightweight, would stay on, and be comfortable for tiny feet.
I began playing around with making patterns for moccasins and soon had strangers approaching me on the street asking where I had purchased his shoes. I began designing some unique moccasins based on a woodland theme that matched my son, Aiden’s nursery. The fox moccasins were an immediate hit, it took months of designing them, but soon the pattern was perfected. I began making other animal moccasins that would pair with the “adventure” theme of Blueberries For Call onesies and leggings.
The name, Blueberries For Call is based off of my favourite childhood book: Blueberries For Sal. I would read this book to Aiden every night and it brought back such sweet memories of my parents reading me this book when I was a child.
Blueberries for Call is available on ETSY and you can also follow their super cute on instagram
